Meet Our Dedicated Coaches & Trainers

Bill Williams

Former Boxer, Gym Co-Owner, Coach & Trainer

Bill began boxing at an early age, and his fighting career spanned from 1967-1974. But his passion for the ring has never been knocked out. Inducted into the Niagara Boxing Legends and the Brantford and Area Sports Hall of Recognition, Bill’s career highlights include winning a senior provincial championship (Kitchener) and earning the title Boxer of the Year in 1971.

After starting a boxing club at the Boys and Girls Club in Brantford and establishing the Black Eye Boxing Club, Bill opened the doors to Bell City Boxing in 2017 and recently expanded the gym to nearly double the amount of space available to train.

Today, Bill coaches boxers of all sizes, ages, and abilities. He wants to give kids a place to go, pros and up-and-comers a home to train, and Parkinson’s patients a healthy, hopeful community to join.

Jack Blasdell

Gym Co-owner, Coach & Trainer

Jack decided to become a trainer for one very important reason: his daughter, Cher. Jack trained Cher until she was on the verge of becoming a professional boxer, and they made the decision to join and eventually co-own Bell City Boxing with Bill.

No stranger to adversity, Jack inspires boxers young, amateur, and pro to get back up after being knocked down in the ring or life. He is a certified Rock Steady boxing coach.

Bell City Boxing Hall of Fame

Our Boxers Past and Present

Jennifer Williams

As Brantford’s first female professional boxer, Jen has made the club and community beyond proud with her National Championship of Canada welterweight title win. With Bill Williams (related by boxing but not blood) in her corner, Jennifer has also won Brampton Cup and Golden Glove titles:

Sam Bumbaca

Sam “The Bomber” Bumbaca won her first U23 70 kg National Championship in November 2024 with Bell City in her corner. While at university in Windsor, she became the 2025 Ontario Provincial Champion with Border City Boxing.

Jason Saggo

In 2011, Bill had the opportunity to train Jason in PEI while he was fighting in the UFC. After leaving the UFC, the Canadian mixed martial artist made his professional MMA debut before retiring from competition in 2018.
